I know my fathers parents came from Mississippi, that is where my dad was born. He was  born and named Charles Ray Garner and some how took on the name Kenneth Lee Garner. I  was told his birth records were burnt up in a fire at a court house in Mississippi. My  Grand father Melvin Garner had several mental breakdowns and was placed in a mental  hospital unsure where. My grandparents moved to Ingalls Indiana with all 14 children.  My Dad met my Mom in Fortville Indiana. Mom became pregnant with my older brother  Terry when she was 16 years of age. I was born a year after Terry. I cannot seem to  find any information on Melvin Garner its kinda like he just appeared from no where.  My Dad never talked much about his side of the family. My Mothers side of the family  has lived in the Fortville area even before Fortville existed. My Grandfather, Elmer  Brown was my best friend and I miss him very much. Just minutes before he died he told  me that we would go on a fishing trip again. I do believe I will be fishing with my  friend again.
